What are the Medical Class 1 requirements?
Before commencing commercial training, you must pass a Class 1 Aviation Medical Examination. This ensures you meet the physical and visual standards required to safely operate commercial aircraft. This medical needs to be completed in SA with a SA CAA recognised aviation doctor..
How long does it typically take from zero to CPL?
For dedicated, full-time students training at FlyLFC, the journey from zero flight hours to graduating with a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Multi Engine Instrument Rating typically spans 12 to 14 months. This timeline is subject to weather conditions and individual progression through practical assessments.
Hour Building on a EASA, UK CAA or FAA Licence in SA?
Please email the following to [email protected] so we can apply for a SA CAA Validation on your foreign licence:
1. Copy of your Licence
2. Copies of last three pages of your log book
3. Copy of your passport
4. Copy of your Class 1 Medical
Can I complete a SA CAA CPL ME IR Licence and then convert to EASA, UK CAA, UAE, FAA, Licence etc?
Every country is slightly different:
EASA and UK CAA - write all CPL exams, obtain Class 1 Medical, simulator training, flight training, flight test
DGCA - write all CPL exams, obtain Class 1 Medical, flight instruction and a flight test
Can LFC recommend where I can do my EASA, UK CAA, FAA conversion?
Yes. Clear and precise communication is critical in aviation. Depending on the conversion you require, we have close relationships with Training Centres that will take you through your conversion process.
